FALUN, Dalarna, Sweden will host FIS Nordic World Ski Championship 2015!
VIESSMANN FIS WORLD CUP FINAL Svenska Skidspelen March 16-20 2011.
The winner in the election of the 2015 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was Falun. The Swedish town, which is well-known among the Cross-Country fans as an excellent host over the years for many, many Cross-Country World Cups, won in a tight vote over three ballots against its competitors Lahti (FIN), Zakopane (POL) and Oberstdorf (GER).
With their second application, Falun, which is situated 2,5h hours north of Stockholm, won with a creative concept known as «beyond skiing». In the next years, the OC will develop the venues and infrastructure in order to provide the best facilities for the entire FIS Nordic Family. Read more on www.beyondskiing2015.com
A fantastic WC Final in Falun is over. Svenska Skidspelen 2010 was a great success. Over 21000 spectators on site enjoyed the days in rain, sun and snowstorm. It was a great event for both spectators and competitors. Also millions of TV spectators get exciting TV pictures from the last event for the season2009-2010. We are now preparing for WC final 2011. First stage in Stockholm March 16 and stage 2-4 in Falun March 18-20.
